How to Catch a Leprechaun

Every year on St. Patrick’s Day the mischievous little leprechaun wreak havoc on our house and the kids wake up to find some pretty wacky things.  This year they are old enough to be a little conniving on their own.  They devised a great little simple gadget to catch a leprechaun and mommy decorated it for them.

What we used:

  • A box
  • A wooden stick
  • Pipe cleaners (Gold and the rainbow colors)
  • hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • felt
  • cotton
  • decorations of your liking

The object of the trap is for the greedy leprechaun to grab the pot of gold and knock down the stick resulting in the box falling on top of him.  I am a little afraid of what the kids will do to me when I get too old.  The nursing home is starting to look nicer and nicer!  lol

  1. Oh when I taught Preschool… March 17th was a favorite day… WE did everything in our power to catch a leprechaun. But along the way we saw everything those little green beings did to trick us! ;)
