Amazing Grace
Ewing’s sarcoma is a primary bone cancer that affects developing children, especially those going through puberty. When compared with other cancers, malignant bone tumors like Ewing’s sarcoma are rare. There are 250 diagnoses per year in the U.S., and Lara and her family felt the burden of now being a part of that statistic. Ewing’s sarcoma is a very aggressive form of cancer; therefore, treatment must also be aggressive.

Christie, what an incredible article. At once I am heartbroken, empowered, hopeful and encouraged. You did a wonderful job sharing this beautiful little girl with us. God bless her and everyone she loves.
Thank you so much! I had so much to say about her, but I also had a word limit which made it difficult. I’m glad that I have been getting positive feedback from the article. She is a doll!
So sad that this beautiful innocent child is going through this. May things just keep getting better for her & her family.
Hey there, this was excellent. Smiles always…Bev
I will be thinking and praying for this precious little girl. I pray she will be completely cancer free in 10 years. I also pray that God will bring not only healing but blessings to this precious family. I pray He will help them get through this very difficult time. Blessings Always, Diane Roark http://www.recipesforourdailybread.com
Thank you Diane. We all know that prayer is powerful. It is greatly appreciated
What a wonderful article. My daughter is a cancer survivor and I will add this little girl to my prayers.
Thank you so much! Every prayer is appreciated
Wonderful article and sweet family. I hope the best for them.
Thank you. They are an amazing little group
I hope Lara gets better. The article is very good
Thank you!
awe…that is one adorable little princess!
As usual, I am late to the party and I missed out on the working link. Can you please repost the working link for folks like me? thanks.
Of course! http://www.povhouma.com/Articles/2012/09/lv_11_0912.html
Wow, Christie, my eyes are still little watery after reading the article. I can’t stand the thought of someone as innocent and sweet going through chemo and dealing with all the adult level treatment and pain, its just not right…(sigh) And how the heck does a 7year old child have the patience and discipline to stay in a body cast for 4-6weeks, immobile! I can certainly understand her maturity level since I’ve had 4 year olds who were, and still are, into Thomas and friends, all while young Lara was watching NCIS…lol. That is one mature young lady!
I pray her treatment is a success. Our society can always benefit from additional loving intelligent pediatrician that has been there and done that
I hope bunch of you are participating in the 5k race, I’ll be there in spirit
I am a member of the service league that is putting on the 5K and have chosen Lara as our recipient. The response has been great thus far. This interview was one of the most difficult that I have ever done. When I looked at her I saw my Gracie and it was heart wrenching! Thanks for your support
