Lemon with your tea? Yes, Please!

I don’t know how many others out there LOVE their tea like I do, but no matter how much tea I drink I can never seem to use the whole bag of lemons before one or two shrivel up on me.  What I have started doing was freezing the lemons, cutting one at a time and use as needed.  The problem with that is by the time I was ready for the second lemon, it was frozen solid and I was unable to cut through it…ugh.  I found a little hint on Pinterest that suggested you slice the lemons, stack wax paper between each slice, and then freeze in a container or bag.  Once again there was a problem for me, I only use half a slice of lemon in my cup of tea so I inevitably waste half of my lemons that way or my tea was too “lemony”.

You would think this shouldn’t be such a difficult subject, I guess I just make things more difficult than necessary at times.  I eventually figured it out.  One morning while making biscuits (the “flash frozen” kind) it dawned on me that I could do this with my lemons.  So I put the lemons in the freezer, let them stay until they are slightly frozen.  I then slice the lemons and cut the slices in half and place them into a ziploc bag and freeze.  I can now just take one half a slice of lemon as I need!  I am a happy girl!  That’s my cup of tea!! :)

See the ice crystals on the slices!

Hope this helps you save your lemons!
