A quick and easy cajun meal ;)
During the week, schedules are hectic and life is just crazy. With three kids at home and both my husband and I in law enforcement, things are never guaranteed to be scheduled. We do our best to have a decent meal at dinner time. I have recently come across these awesome products that make a “home cooked meal” a weekday possibility!
The Rhodes dinner rolls are favorites in my house and have been a favorite of mine ever since I was a kid. I take them from the freezer in the morning and prepare them according to the package. When I get home in the evening, they have risen and are ready to be baked. I just add a couple of pats of Lite Butter to the top and bake as directed.
The Blue Runner products are awesome! The jambalaya mix is definitely one of the best premade mixes. I just added some baked chicken breasts (baked over the weekend prior) and some smoked sausage. The red beans are a must, another favorite from childhood. I still prefer freshly cooked red beans, but this is as close as I am going to get. I cook a big pot of red beans every so often and then freeze it in little containers. Sadly the last of the beans have been used :(…lol When using Blue Runner beans I add in half of an onion and some smoked sausage.
By Gracie’s request, I grilled some thinly sliced center cut pork chops with cajun seasonings on the George Foreman grill. Now, who says we can’t do it all on a weeknight?
This meal defnitely made one little girl happy and full!
